Leigh, the queen of hand embroidery!
Here are two of her quilts. This one is called "Bohemian." She had brought a baby quilt of the same design some time ago, and had so much fun that she made one for herself too. Now, she has so much fabric leftover from this, that she's making another. All done with Kaffee Fassett fabrics, so I let the fabric "speak" for the quilting. Lots of SID on the blocks, and a consistent background fill. Then lots of playing with freehand designs in the borders. Below is the backing which was actually a deep purple flannel.

And now "Tiny Houses". Each block finishes at about 6". Amazing detail! All hand appliqued and embroidered, down to the clock minutes on the Town Hall
So much texture in the embroidery!
