2 Heart quilts from Trudy

Aren't these so sweet?  I love the simplicity of the block but also how well it works as both 2 colors and a rainbow.  I think I'll be taking this idea and making something of my own.

"Love Notes" by Sue

How sweet is this!?  Take a variety of heart fabrics, and then make little envelopes out of them, and you've got a "Love Notes" quilt!

 

Which, obviously, had to had hearts in the quilting, so this is Hearts and Bubbles.  Wouldn't you love to be Sue's valentine? 

Medallion quilt for Pat

 

It seems that Pat went into an antique store somewhere, and found this quilt top priced at $20.  Where are these things when I'm in antique stores?! 

Pat brought it to me and basically told me to have fun and play with it.  We both agreed that wool batting would be best, giving it loft to show off the quilting, but also for warmth as it's future home will be as a throw on their sofa.  It's just the right size to pull over you on a cold, wet Oregon day.

Boy did I have fun with this quilt!  I hope that the unknown piecer, wherever they are and whoever they may be, is happy with the results.

These are in no particular order, but the solid white photos are of the backing to show the quilting.  With that amazing medallion in the center, that needed to be highlighted, so SID around the rays, and background fill behind.

Two different ruler angle designs in the triangle squares, continuous curves in the squares on point. 

Pebbling around the "X" blocks and nothing in the X's to allow those to pop.  Looks unquilted on the back, but I love how it turned out!

The beige backgrounds have a feather wreath going around, and the white has 3 plumes in each corner.

Just straight wavy lines in the long borders.

Quilt for the future Hazel Mae from Pat G

 Isn't Hazel Mae a lucky girl?  She's not even born yet, and here is her quilt from great aunt Pat to wrap her up in.   Hand appliqued hearts, and then quilted with a back ground fill of hearts.  Just in case there was any concern that she not know how much she is loved.

"Churn Dash" by Avis

 At least I think that the pattern is a churn dash.  Lovely patriotic colors, and then quilted with a variegated thread in the same colors.

Also a new computerized design called "Hearts and Bubbles".  What fun.

"pink for a friend" by Jan

This quilt just wants to cuddle with you.  It's so soft, and soft colors.  Quilted with double hearts, or at least I think that's the name of the design.  So very pretty.

Purprle Squre by Stephanie

Shh.  I'm pretty sure this is a Christmas gift for Stephanie's grand-daughter.  Guess what her favorite color is?

A simple design, but very well executed. Quilted with hearts because she loves her grand-daughter so much.

"Monkey Wrench" by Lee Ann

This is a new pattern to me.  Looks familiar, but I don't recognize the name. 

Lee Ann handpieced the blocks in this quilt.  She told me that she used to work night shift at a care facility of some sort, so this would be her project to work on when things were slow.  I LOVE handwork.

She did add the borders by machine, but everything else is all hand stitched.  Nice work.

Since she had pieced the quilt, she chose the "Caring Hands" pantograph for quilting.  Hearts and hands throughout.

I think that this quilt has hearts quilted into the body of the quilt so that the baby will know that someone loves them.
