2nd Vintage Ocean Waves quilt from Patty

Another of Patty's children is
getting married, so another wedding gift of a quilt.  These quilt tops were hand pieced by I believe Patty's mother, circa 1960"s, but many of the fabrics are probably older than that.  Quilted with edge to edge Baptist Fans
Just to give some perspective of the size of the pieces "grandma" was working with, that's a dime.  Wow.  I've just done the math 168 blocks, About 25-30 pieces per block.  That's a LOT of little pieces of fabric.

"Steam Punk" Halloween panel by Michael

I'm not a huge fan of the "steam punk" look, but I think this panel did turn our really sweet with Michael's treatment of it.  Added pinwheel borders, and then requested "Whatever Halloween theme panto you have."  I didn't have any, so off to shop!  Found "Midnight Bats.

The thread
is green when you quilt with it, but then glows in the dark.  The spider web fabric also glows!

"Scrappy 4 patch" by Priscilla

Priscilla is a new to me customer, but I hope that this is just the beginning of a long relationship.  Here's one that started out as a bunch of 2.5" square, pieced together as lights and darks to make 4 patch units.  I don't know if she used a design wall for the layout, but it's just such a happy quilt!

Quilted with "Chantilly Lace" panto

"Heart Strings" by me

We've all got them.  Bins of fabric "strings" that are too large to throw away, too small to keep.  I found the inspiration for this quilt in a magazine, but don't recall the name of the pattern or the designer. Shame on me!  Pretty easy to figure out, just decide on the size of your squares and then make string pieced blocks and sashing for them.

This is a police quilt, just need to get it to an officer now.  Too bad they don't come knocking at my door when I have a quilt for them.

"Log Cabin" by Sandy for her son

I love log cabin quilts.  So timeless, so elegant!
Sandy lives in CA, but came up to Portland to visit her son.  She dropped the quilt off on her way out of town, and we'll make arrangements to get it back to her.

"Same as previous" by Lorri

I am ashamed to admit it, but the only "name" I have for this quilt is that it should be quilted "the same as previous"
I know that Lorri has now made two of these quilts, same pattern, but with slightly different batiks and different color borders.  One will be for Lorri, and the other for her sister.  The quilt is king sized, so too large to get a full quilt shot.  I love the center design.

"Delectable Mountains" by Sharyle

Sharyle kindly is donating it, bless her heart.  Quilted with "Damask Roses" design

Tricia's first quilt

The quilting design is "Asti".  All circles to play off the straight lines of her quilt top.  Lovely.

The last 2 fan quilts from Janet

I love these quilts where the blocks were hand pieced, and are vintage, so some are worn through, or a bit misshapen, but all obviously much loved.  These will go to decendants of the original piecer and Janet.  Such lovely gifts!

"LLamas" and "Whales" by Pat

Llamas on the fabric, and even a panto called "Llama Love" for the quilting.
And obviously, whales for the quilting design too.
