Stars and 9 patch by Beverly

Another gorgeous quilt by Beverly.  This one is for her grand-daughter.  We were discussing backing fabrics, and Beverly shared that this grand-daughter has a dog, so probably not white backing.  So a great read that really let's the quilting show.

Since the background is actually a pale grey, that's the thread color I went with as well.  Hard to see, but it blends really nicely.  Great idea to cut a slightly smaller center square, then to frame it with a different red.  Lots of fun fabrics to look at!

"Intertwined Chains" by Beverly

This is for a daughter or grand-daughter who enjoys Asian culture.  Quilted with the Sunrise Fans digital panto after looking at other options and not finding anything even half as nice.  When Beverly saw this she said "Oh it's perfect!"  Just what you want to hear.  I won't be hearing from her for a while, she spends the winters in the south, and is leaving before she'll finish another one.  I can hardly wait to see what she creates this winter.

"pineapple blocks" by Beverly

Having recently completed a paper pieced quilt top, I can't imagine taking this project on.  Every single seam was stitched to paper individually, then the paper was torn away after the quilt was finished.  Wow.  Precision piecing, but not for me.

This quilt will go to Beverly's 11yo great grand-daughter.  I hope she realizes the work that went into this and appreciates it.

"Woven" by Beverly

This is a pattern that Beverly created by herself.
She described it as "Just a 4 patch", but also pointed out that you really had to pay close attention to placement to get the pattern of the colors all in a row.

Beverly also asked for "the simplest design" for quilting, so I chose "Tiramisu".  Amazing quilt.
