"Sewing Hands" by Ellen

This is a very simple quilt, but very effective.  All cut from the same size of squares, then pieced together into squares and rectangles. 

 Quilted with a digital design called "Daisy Tile".  The Sewing Hands title comes from the hands holding needle and thread print for the backing.

3 of the 5 from Susan for her son and friends at West Point

Susan took on the task of making 5 quilts for her son, and his friends at West Point.  I have no idea what I did with the photos of the other two, but they were also stunning!  The top one is for her son, all paper pieced.

I don't know if this is paper pieced or not, but the curved piecing alone makes me want to cringe.

And finally, more my speed for quilting.  All using the same "Simply Stars" panto, and she is madly working on binding to be able to take them with her at the end of the month.

As always, where does he find the time?!  Nutcraker #1 and I think he's already got another made in a different color scheme.  The quilting design mimics the background fabric design.

 

Desert Scene, I think my favorite of the group

Laybrinth, which I only know was made as a film starring David Bowie, but have never seen

2nd star to the Right, depicting Peter Pan, Captain hook and the rest of the gang.  I love the sailors expression in regards to the mermaids!

Hunter's Star by Jon

This is Jon's first quilt, and he started with a challenge of a Hunter's Star.  Going to be a baby quilt for a friend, and  a lucky friend.

Quilted with the Wind Dancer pantograph and Hobbs wool batting.  Stunning!

 

"Victorian Teacups" by Trudy

Trudy said that she had been working on this quilt for a long time, but I think it was well worth the wait.  Panels of teacups, mixed with beautifully pieced stars.

Quilted with a panto called "Chantilly Lace, and so soft and lovely.
 

"Forest Trees" by Anna

Anna is a new to me customer, but I'm thrilled with what she brought for quilting.  The actual title of the quilt is "the Lookout" by Elizabeth Hartman

Beautifully pieced, and  I love all the animals looking out at you.  Quilted with an panto called "Timber"

 

Lavender by Susan

Susan approached me about quilting for her many months ago, she was initially interviewing quilters.  Then she waited 2 months for her backing fabric to come in, only to find that it had been discontinued.  She also decided that the front of the quilt was too busy, so took many blocks out and rearranged them, and ended up using those on the back. (Bottom)  Beautifully pieced and with tiny little fussy cut cornerstones.  I'm looking forward to seeing what else she brings!

I'm calling this quilt "Big T Block" but that's probably not it's actual name.  I'm always so happy to see the full shot of the quilt because when I'm working on them, I only see a portion at a time and the full view is so much better!

And a series of Friendship star blocks.  A rainbow print background and rainbow colors for the star blocks.

 

Two Bow Tie Quilts by me.

Babies galore!  My great niece Juni will soon be a Big Sister to Brother "Bean".  His in utero name, and Juni was called "Sprout" until she arrived in the world.

Fabrics are all hand dyed by me and some came from my stash of previous projects.

This is the backing, ice dyed, so less consistency in color saturation.  Quilted with an E2E design called "Bean Sprout" and what could have been more perfect?

  My darling neighbors Julia and Pete and Big Sister Indie are going to have a new baby boy.  I'd had so much fun making Beans quilt that I used the same fabrics for the blocks and dyed a slightly darker shade of blue for the background.  Can't wait to meet him!

"Animals With Quilts" (or Show and Tell) by Michael

Where he finds the time to make all these quilts is beyond me, but I'm always thrilled to hear from Michael.  This is so cute!!  Several animals showing off quilts that they have made!

Baby quilt for Mary Beth's newest grandson

 A very simple quilt, the fabrics are a mountain scene as the family lives in Colorado.  Quilted with an edge to edge called "Backwoods" so moose and deer and a tent for camping.  Lots of fun things to look for on the back.

"Trip Around the World" by Carol

All made in lovely batiks by Carol, I believe for her sister?

 Quilted with Curly Swirly panto and hot pink thread.  So fun!

"Bow Ties for Bean"

"Bean" if the in utero name of my future great nephew..  (His older sister was known as "Sprout" until she arrived)

We know that he is a boy, and I decided that he needed some Bow Ties.  All the fabrics are hand dyed by me, and that was the most fun!  Taking a plain white fabric and making it come out a completely different color and sometimes with a great print where the dye didn't take.  Not to mention all the gradations in the colors since they are done by hand.  Quilted with a design called "Bean Sprout", because what else could I possibly use?

 

"Cats in Pajamas by Beter

Oh how cute!!  All of the cats are made from flannel fabrics so they are a little fuzzy.  Then the "Pajamas" are made from fabric prints that would resemble patters from kids pajamas.  So there are bicycles, cars and even sharks!

 

For Texas niece by Pat

Carol has made this pattern before, but I don't think she was happy with how this turned out.  However, when she picked it up, she was quite pleased with how the quilting enhanced it. 

 The quilting is called "Chevron Modern", and I am excited to use it again myself.

3 from me

 

Scrappy Star.  Using up all of those 2" squares that I have in a shoebox next to my sewing machine.  (Using up is a euphemism.  The box just keeps getting higher)

Then made star points out of those fabrics that just don't "fit" into a color category.  Still not enough to make all the stars match, but I think it just continues the scrappy theme.

Nelle is a coworker expecting her first baby in Jan. 2026.  So of course she needs a baby quilt!  Her favorite colors are purple and baby quilt,  Churn Dash blocks paired with Friendship stars and quilted with an E2E called "Vanilla Cream"

And since it is a well known fact that Beth can't count, here are the leftovers from Nelle's quilt, made into a cop quilt.  I had fun playing with the quilting designs on my big "freehand" machine.
