Two from Donna

We have here "Trees and Stars" quilted with a great design of leaves and swirls.  Really works on this quilt.

Also "Modern Triangles and Circles".  This one amazes me because she has pieced all of the circles.  Not being a fan of curved piecing, I am quite impressed with her skills.

 And  a modern circle design for quilting.  Fun!

"Here and There" by Pat

I think that this quilt pattern is out of the comfort zone of Pat and I, but she made it at the request of her financial adviser, and this is their style.

Quilted with rulers to make straight lines on the tops and bottom at 1" spacing, and to echo the piecing in the middle.  The print sections are quilted with a narrow channel on each side.

 

Modern Baby quilt by Luci

Luci brought me this sweet baby quilt to finish and wanted a modern design for quilting.  I believe the design is called "Modern Squares".  I think it's perfect.

 

"Shattered" by Jennie

 This is Jennie's second ever quilt.  Pretty amazing, I think.  The name of the pattern is "Shattered", but she has yet to decide what she will call it.

Jennie wanted something circular to offset the sharp points of the piecing.  Good call!  So quilting with an edge to edge "spiral" design and white thread.  If this is what she does for her second quilt, I think that Jennie is going places quickly.

Atomic Tulips by Julia

 How cool is this?  Julia started with Drunkard's Path blocks, but then turned them into tulips.    So pretty! 

When Julia and I were discussing how to quilt her quilt, and she said that she wanted the whole thing cross-hatched, I was probably a little more than enthusiastic.  The quilt is 92" square, and the idea of doing all of that with rulers was more than I could comprehend.  Not to mention the expense!  However, Lenni, and his amazing computer program to the rescue!  This is the single diamond design, and it turned out stunning!  Great choice of design Julia, and sorry that I was discouraging at first.

1/2 square triangles by Betsy

 Betsy tells me that she is a garment sewer, but still made this really cool quilt.  I'm very impressed with her matching points, she says "I was kind of anal about it.".  Nice work!

Straight lines for quilting, which is quite effective.

"Squares with White Modern Quilt" by Amanda.

 I am not much for the modern quilt movement, but I can see the attraction of the simplicity of this one. 

The squares finish at approx. 4", and the quilting is straight lines from top to bottom, randomly spaced apart.  Very fun.
