National Parks by Ellen

 Ellen made this fabulous BOM from Grandma's Attic in Dallas, OR.  The cornerstones are fussy cut from the same fabric as the backing, and feature small images advertising different parks.  Well done Ellen.

"Rainbow Fish" by Pam

There are lots of different fish prints in this quilt, and colors, so I think that's where the name of it comes from.  Pam loves the Baptist Fan designs, reminding her of family members marking quilt tops with chalk lines and a string for hand quilting

These fans also have a heart in the middle, so even more love in this quilt.

 

Robin's Churn Dash

The name of the block is a "Churn Dash" I am guessing since it resembles the old churn dash they used to make butter.  Thank goodness we don't have to do that anymore! 

 

Yes, many of the fabrics in the quilt are vintage, and of so lovely.  Quilted with Baptist Fans, a very appropriate design for the era of the quilt.

9 patch blocks from Joanne

 Joanne didn't piece this quilt top, because I don't think that she was living in the 1860's when it is believed to have been hand pieced.  Wow.   Joanne took it the Latimer Quilt Museum in Tillamook and that's where they dated it.

I love how the piecer used whatever they had on hand.  The blue stripe fabric above is obviously cut from a former garment.

Quilted with So Fine! thread  and the Baptist Fans board.

I love 1930's prints to begin with, so this quilt was a joy to work on.  Large blocks, probably 12" square at least.

Quilted as an edge to edge design with Baptist Fans, and pale yellow King Tut thread.  The background is actually a very pale yellow, not white as it reads in the photos.

Jelly Roll by Kelli

Start (and maybe finish) with a jelly roll.   A collection of fabrics cut into 2.5" strips and rolled up together into a design that resembles a jelly roll pastry.
I don't know if Kelli randomly cut the lengths, or if there was a pattern, but it surely works.

Pam's Flying Geese

 I love Flying Geese, but am thrilled at the idea of making all those little points match, or cutting ALL those triangles!  I'm glad Pam did, so I don't have to.

Great treatment on the border to alternate the direction of the triangles.

By the Lake by Michael

I believe that this is the second "By the Lake" quilt that Michael has made.  

It's such a great design, and so versatile.  I love the heart in the center.  Perfect for a wedding gift.

Houses

Again, I cannot imagine the patience it must have taken to create this quilt.  one large house is the same size as 4 of the smaller houses.  All those little tiny little pieces!  Quilted with Baptist Fans, and destined to be a gift for a friend.

Retro stars by Sandy

Isn't this just a soothing quilt?  I think I'm also turning more people onto the joys of wool batting because that's what Sandy chose for her quilt.  

Stars by Leslie

Because the mother of the bride has nothing else to do prior to her daughter's wedding, so she made a .quilt top for her and her husbands bed.  Leslie is truly amazing, she hosted a buffet dinner for the wedding at their home.  Wow.

Leslie and Gordon also chose wool batting for their quilt, and I love how the fans show off with this batt.

Linda's wedding quilt

No, Linda isn't getting married again, this is one that she made for her grandson and his bride.

I love log cabins, love stars, love Baptist Fans, so for me, this quilt has it all!

Dresden Plates by Harriet

I love Dresden plates, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for all the work of appliqueing them. This is the second one I've done for Harriet, and her piecing is perfect. We did Baptist Fans on both of them, and they are both so soft and lovely.

9-patch variation set on point

You've got to love the Baptist Fans on traditional quilts like this one. Just very calm and soothing. The prints are what appear to be civil war reproductions to me, but I could be wrong. What a beauty.

"Green and Gold" by Betsi

I think that the best part of this quilt is the way the sashing strips on blocks make a lovely secondary pattern. The sashings are the same pattern as one I'm currently working on, so it gave me some ideas for when I set my quilt. Quilted with one of my favorites, Bapstist Fans.

Toni's quilt

The quilt top was pieced by Toni's mom before she passed away. It is quilted with Baptist Fans, a very traditional design, and very approp. for a Trip Around the World quilt

"Bow Ties"

This quilt was started by my customers mother who passed away before it was completed. She was making it for her son, and it was completed by her daughter, my customer, and sister of the recipient. This was also Greta's first quilt, so I was doubly impressed. Quilted with Baptist Fans.

Edna's Thimbleberries

Edna's "Thimbleberries 2007, House and Garden" Quilted with an overall design of Baptist Fans.

Now, no one likes to admit this, but mistakes do happen. I accidentally tore a hole in her quilt, but thankfully, had fabric to repair it. Gold star for you if you can find the repair!
