"Bright batiks" by Karolyn

I love how fun and bright this quilt is.  Just random fabrics cut to the same size, and then pulled out and pieced together in now design.  Much like confetti.

I'm making a similar quilt, will have to keep this idea in mind for when I start to sew it together.

Pat's wallhaning part 2

Pat gave her son and daughter in law their wall hanging and while I'm sure they loved it, they asked if I could add more quilting in either end in gold thread.

It needed to be a slightly larger circle design than I had a ruler for, so I marked the outer edge with chalk, and I can still see that in this photo.  Must tell Pat to wash that off, and wonder why I didn't.  Pat loved it, I hope they recipients do as well.

3 from Betty

Betty's current goal is to make a quilt for each family member.  I won't try to keep track of who each quilt is for.  (I have a hard enough time keeping track of my own family.)  This stunner above is done in flannels, so warm and cozy
This is over and under flannels.  I love how to the piecing makes the weave design.  My check in sheet on this one said that I was supposed to quilt it in a bright yellow thread, and I just couldn't make myself do it.  I think that I had written it wrong.  I used a medium grey, and thankfully Betty liked it.

This is a "Minecraft" quilt for one of children.  I think that's a video game.    Betty let me choose the quilting design, and now I can't recall what this is called, but I love how it turned out on this quilt!

This is the backing and my favorite part of the quilt!  Betty says that there is no top or bottom on the backing fabric which is great because I couldn't figure it out.

When Betty picked up this quilt, she brought me another Minecraft one to do with the same backing.  I think I may find a similar, but different quilting design so that they won't be the same.

"Shake Down Cruise" by me.

I bought my first APQS Millie longarm machine in 2006, and didn't think I would ever change.  Then, as a rep, I felt I needed to have one that looked like what we were currently selling, so purchased a 2013 Millie.  Changes were pretty obvious to others, new on is white, old was grey.  Then come November 2023, I receive a call from my friend in Iowa and learn that the company is offering a deal to reps that was just too good to pass up!  So, goodbye to my 2013 machine, and welcome to my latest girl!
Most people won't be able to see much difference between 2013 and 2023, but I can.  Since I didn't want to get to know my new baby on a customers quilt, I threw on a charity quilt top to play with and get to know my new girl a bit.
These blocks were simply "strings", pieces of fabric that were greater than 1" wide, and varying lengths.  I stitched them into bands, and then cut them to 6.5" because I have a ruler that size.I think plan A was to have a purple string quilt, but then it was really long and skinny.  Add some green blocks to the sides to build up the size.
Now take all those blocks and play in them.  Some rulers, free hand designs that I've never done before, ones that I've done many times but wanted to get the feel of how my new girl works. Really glad I took the time to do that, I've gone from feeling anxious and a bit of "why did I do this?!" to "Oh hey!  This is great!"

"Iceland" by Sharyle

This is another pattern from Heart to Hand.  I'm not sure if Shayrle made the tops then, or made them again recently.  Either way, lovely quilt.

Quilted in gold thread with Northern Lights panto.

"Welcome to the Flock" by me

For anyone who doesn't yeet know, my biking friends and I refer to ourselves as "the flock" for our fascination with flamingo tights.  When my newest great niece was born, she got a quilt, but then I found this pattern in my collection and HAD to make it

The blue fabric is some of my hand dyed fabrics, and of course, I quilted it with and edge to edge design of flamingos!

"Forgotten Mystery" by me.

"Whatever makes you happy by Leigh

Leigh and her truly amazing embroidery and applique.  Wow.
As usual, all done in wools, with LOTS of embellishments
This is "Tucker" her dogs name, but I'm not sure this is what he looks like.

This block just made me happy.

"Dutch mystery" from Sharyle

Here's one from the "way back machine"  This is the Dutch mystery that we made at Heart to Hand quilt shop

Since Sharyle had put prarie points on the outer edge, we couldn't do an edge to edge design or they would just get run over by my machine.  So, swirls and leaves in the main quilt, and feathers in the border.

Two from Betty for grandkids

This is a for a grand-daughter.  Made of flannels on top so warm and cozy.  Quilted with snowflakes so warm and wintery

And Spiderman panel with additionalfabrics for borders.  Clearly, quilted with a spider web design

"Modern" quilt for Lisa's daughter

This is for Lisa's grown up daughter.  I believe that she also chose the fabrics and colors for it.  Lisa chose the "Wax on" panto, and kindly shared with me that it's about the phases of the moon.  Which is a lovely compliment to the design in the blue fabrics below.

Jackie's T-shirts

Jackie was referred to me by Feather Your Nest quilt shop, and she is a tri-athlete.  So lots of runs and bike rides,  and athletic events.

I, of course, focused on the bike shirts.  Cycle Oregon, although I didn't ride this one.

Wallhanging from Pat for her son and daughter in law

Here is a wall hanging from Pat that she made for her son.  Very modern, so very simplistic quilting.  SID on the blue, and curves on the gold

"Quail" by Diana for her mom's 84th birthday

Isn't this just so fun!  Diana says that where her mother lives there are quite a few resident Quail who hang out near her home.  Sadly, mom's birthday was while I was out of town, but we met soon after I returned and got this finished for her.

Each individual egg on 3 rows of sashing was cut out by hand, and appliqued b y machine.  I SID around them all to give them definition.
Same with the birds, and some of them have a LOT of pieces!  Beaks, wings, their adorable little topknots.  Quilted with a freehand background fill of swirls that was a good match to the print on the white on white background.

 She is my favorite!

Pam has been busy!

Here are 3 from  Pam all destined to be donation quilts for charity.  What a fun idea, take a churn dash, and then make a really big block.  Only needs four of them to make a good sized quilt, and then sashing between the blocks is a perfect  compliment
Quilted with "Hippity Hoppity" panto, but I don't see any bunnies in this myself.

A "Crumb" quilt.  Where you take all those little bits of fabrics that you have in random shapes and stitch them together until they are large enough to make a block of whatever size you choose.

I  especially liked Pam's limited color palette.  Mostly greens and blues with a few black and white thrown in for fun
Quilted with "Radiate Pearls", and there are small "pearls" strung through
Pam told me that this was called "Skip to my Lou", but I don't know if that is the pattern designers name choice, or if Pam created this on her own.  Regardless, it's darling!

Quilted with Baptist Fans

Table Runner for Cousin Barbara by Pat

Clearly Pat is a wonderful cousin, to make something this lovely for a cousin.  Machine applique, pieced, kind of Christmas in the reds and greens, but not so much that it can't be used year round.
Since it was small, and my directions for quilting were "Beth to play", I just played.  Feathers some ruler work, SID around the appliques, but then they needed something to keep from being so poofy.

Glide thread to match the fabric throughout

Log Cabin variation by Kathy

I love the variety you can achieve with a Log Cabin block.  This one would probably be closer to a Courthouse Steps block, but still very similar.  Great way to use up small bits of fabric and bring joy to the recipient  In this case, Kathy's neighbor Quilted

Quilted with "Divine" pantograph
