Where does she come up with these ideas?!  Alternate appliqued flower blocks with collage flowers made from buttons or embroidery stitches, or both combined.

I think these little French Knot flowers are my favorite.

A basket of bluebells

Start with a little piece of lace, and cut it apart to make a flower blossom, start with a flower pot button, and "grow" a flower out of it.

"Houses" designed by Leigh

Leigh designed all of these lovely houses herself.  Even the little tiny ones on the outside.  Now, if only my photography skills were half as good as her applique and embroidery skills.

I love the ribbon tree.

"Primitive Cats" by Cindy

Cindy is learning applique by machine, so she went to town with her kitties.  Quilted with a viney swirl meander around the appliques, no sense in driving right over all of her hard work. 

Matthew's t's for Shawn

 Matthew is Shawn's younger son, and he will be graduation from high school this year and off to college in the fall.  I love to Shawn saved quilts from throughout his life, starting as a toddler, hence the "Earth Mover" shirt below, and up to "Band" from high school.  Even a couple from day care.

Darlene contacted me before Christmas 2017 about making these quilts, but was understanding that they would need to be for Christmas 2018.  Now I believe that they are to be graduation gifts because she can't wait that long to give them to them.

Sadly, a couple of the shirts logos were so large that they needed to be cut down to fit the quilt.  This one stated "Arizona.  Spanish for hot as balls"

And this was "Trauma Hogs.  Working hard to save your bacon".  Too funny!

While I've never met this man, I'm very grateful to him.  He's been in the Marines, Oregon National Guard and worked as a Sheriff.  Now he is graduating from law school.

Two t-shirts by Kelly

 Kelly had the tops pieced, all I needed to do was quilt and bind them for her.

 Since I only have 2 older brothers, I must be both the good Sister and the evil one.  Sometimes at the same time!

 I think she's a fan of Disneyland.  The Snow White shirt below screams my name!

'April In Paris" by me

Officer Tori asked me to make a quilt for her daughter's high school fund raiser.  There were some leftovers, so I stored them for a while.  Finally cut them into squares, then into half square triangles and added some leftover flag fabric that had been sitting around.  Add leftover wool batting in pieces, and quilt it with gold thread and the April In Paris panto (Eiffel towers and loops).  I will drop it off at East Precinct  for her. 

"Bow Ties" by me

 Back in 2016, we were riding "Reach the Beach".  A fund raiser bike ride for the American Lung Association.  (If you'd like to support me for the 2018 ride, please let me know!)  The group of us were riding along, and met up with Michael who was riding his first century ride.  He joined our paceline, and we got to talking throughout the ride.  In 2017, we were getting ready to start out on the same ride, and who should we run into, but Michael!  We're facebook friends, but otherwise, only "once a year friends".  The ones that you only see one time per year.  Michael said that he and his husband planned to get pregnant in the coming year, with their first daughter.  Of course she will need a quilt!

 What better design for this new and growing family than a bow tie block?  Even more fun when I found pink bow tie fabric!

Quilted with a pantograph of bikes since that's how I got to know Michael.   Yes, I'll be seeing him again in May for RTB.  Our once a year friendship continues.

Grey and white with flower applique by Pat

This quilt is HUGE!  90"x103".Made by Pat for a friend.  I love the applique, but nothing I would ever attempt.  Quilted with swirls to match the design in the fabric, and then some additional stitching done on the applique to hold it down.  Fun!

Pineapple blocks by Linda

Linda mentioned that she made this quilt "when I was still teaching".  Not sure of the year, but I did find a few fabrics in this quilt top that are in my stash as well.  I love pink and yellow, it's so soft and feminine.  Perfect for her grand-daughter.

"Owls" by Sara

 I love this quilt!  Sara always comes up with such sweet applique quilts.  The owls were SID, then I added "Wood Grain" in the limbs of the tree,

And "veins" in the leaves. Such fun!  Also puffy clouds in the sky background.

"Irish Chain" by Janette

Janette's first quilt!  Hurray!  Well done, beautifully pieced, and you can't go wrong with blue in my book. 
Quilted with the "Kay's Shamrock" panto, and a very appropriate choice for an Irish Chain quilt.  Lovely.

Given my recent foray into paper piecing, I am astounded that Michael has even attempted one of these quilts, let alone 5!  The man is amazing.

"Fleece" by Michael

 My mother used to say that my father could do "anything she set her mind to", and I think that Michael may feel the same way about my quilting abilities. Start with two fleece pieces, and then quilt them together with a football theme panto.  Fleece stretches a lot, so this was a bit of a challenge, but I hope that Michael and his brother, the future recipient, will be pleased.

"Flowers" by Shayrle

This quilt will go to the daughter of a friend of Shayrle's  I think the squares were part of a panel, but the border and sashing is all one ombre fabric.  Nice job on the planning and cutting there Sharyle.
