"Wall Hanging" by Leigh

Leigh tells me that she has a new favorite designer, but didn't tell me their name.  Guess I'd better get that.  Leigh's only complaint is that the patterns make small quilts, but she thinks she's got an idea to make them larger.  Based on the photo below with the dime for comparison, I can't imagine!

Those little tiny embroidery stitches to get the "fluff" on the flowers astound me.

 

Leftover fabrics for Erin and Jason by Liz

I love scrappy quilts because they are often made from fabrics that are leftover from other projects. Liz made quilts for the grand-children starting with the fabrics in this quilt  She then made this quilt for Erin and Jason, the parents of the kiddos.

Liz got the pattern off Etsy, but didn't recall the name.  The larger rectangles are 11"x13" though, and the sashing is 1.5".  Simple enough to draft out if you're interested in making one as well.

I love the hand embroidery around the border.  The kids quilts have their names too, per Liz.

Quilted with "Diagonal Plaid" pantograph, but hand guided as the quilt is too larger to fit on my computerized machine.  The kid's quilts were quilted with a very similar pattern.
 

One for Ellie from me

I have actually never met Ellie.  She is the 11yo daughter of a friend of my friend/bike mechanic Brian.  Brian posted a fund raiser on facebook as Ellie is facing a heart transplant, and her family needs funds to live while they are in California waiting for her heart.

The quilt pattern is called "Good Fortune" and I don't even recall where I got it, it is so old.  But it was quick, scrappy, and something relatively non-de script for an unknown girl.  Hope she likes purples and pinks.

"Quilt Kit" from Lisa

Lisa is a new to me quilter, but I hope that we'll get to work again together very soon.  I have titled this quilt "Quilt Kit", but I imagine that there was a more official name.  Quilted with the digital design "Twist and Turn" in bright white thread.  Perfect touch on this lovely quilt.

 

"Intertwined Chains" by Beverly

This is for a daughter or grand-daughter who enjoys Asian culture.  Quilted with the Sunrise Fans digital panto after looking at other options and not finding anything even half as nice.  When Beverly saw this she said "Oh it's perfect!"  Just what you want to hear.  I won't be hearing from her for a while, she spends the winters in the south, and is leaving before she'll finish another one.  I can hardly wait to see what she creates this winter.

 

Two from Gerry

All of these Halloween quilts are making me want to make one too!  I love this one with the cats, hats and pumpkin.  Quilted with bats in bright orange thread.

 And a simple jelly roll that has already been sent to it's forever home in Ohio

Carol has been a very busy lady, as evidenced by what you can see here.  First, we've got her Halloween Girl.  When Carol told me she wanted this quilted in the heirloom category, my heart dropped for a moment.  What to do with this?  Then I got to playing and the design just evolved from there.

The background fill of swirls was dictated by the background print of larger swirls.  Then I got to add some fun detail to the crow wings, and their hats.

I think that her dress was the most fun.  Pebbles on the bodice, and then continuous curves in the skirt.

SID around the cat socks and hat, and then quilted some "fur" for him as well.

I think having started this after the halloween quilt, my creative juices were a little more flowing.  Lots of SID to detail things, and a simple meander in the background to give it texture.

Here is where the fun really begins.  I think my two favorite bits of the quilt are the spool of thread on her thumb, and her hair.  Had to quilt feathers in the border because Carol and I both love feathers.

This is actually a shot of the black backing to show all the thread that went into the quilt.

And a flannel panel quilted with "Flurries" digital design.  On a warm day like today, the idea of snow if even more enticing.

 

 

Two from Sue

Sue is getting ready for a quilt show at her living situation, so not as much piecing for her right now.  Still, she's got some lovelies here! 

Above is a 9 patch variation in my favorite color combo of blue and white

This one is called "Chutney", not sure why.  Quilted with an art deco fan design. 

 

"Artwork" by Mary Beth

This amazing quilt will be a donation from Mary Beth for the Franciscan Spiritual Center.  Quilted with an edge to edge design that started as more of a cross hatching look, but by changing to dimensions, you get the mullioned windows design.

I recognize many of the pieces of art represented here, but you'll have to name them yourselves  Don't want to embarrass myself.

 

"Farfalle" by Pamela

I "meet" the nicest people this way.  I had quilted a quilt for Pamela's daughter in the past, and now Pamela, who lives in Pittsburgh, PA sent me this darling one.

All the time that I was quilting it, I kept thinking that the blocks look like bats, so now I need to make one myself in Halloween prints.  (because I didn't have enough other projects to work on)

 

"Grandmother's Flower Garden" by Vickie

Don't you love hand pieced quilts?  This one was made some time ago, and for various reasons had to wait for quilting.  Quilted with an edge to edge design called "Tiramisu"  Makes me want to cuddle up with it.

 Gerry is going to have to slow down!  I have another quilt of hers finished, and I think that she wants to drop another off soon too.  Wow.  Wish I could find that much time. Quilted with the Ginger Flower digital design.

Sunbonnet Sue by Marlene

I think that this is a vintage top that Marlene rescued, and then added some darling embellishments to.  I love the look of these quilts, but will never make one, so it's fun for me to see ones that others have done.

I love how the bunny is escaping to the sashing as well.

"Tradewinds" by Betty

Betty saw this quilt at the former Fabric Depot  (Oh how I miss that place!)  It was done in more autumn colors, but she opted for blue batiks and it's stunning.

"All Roads Lead to Corgis"

I am a "Corgi mom wanna be"  Used to have Marshall, but he is no longer with us.  Now I'm "Auntie Beth" to Fiona.

Every year (except during quarantine) there is a Corgi Walk in the Pearl, which is also a fundraiser for Dove Lewis.  So, here is the quilt for this year.  Corgi print to start, then added a couple of my hand dyed fabrics for contrast.  So cute!  Love their little fluffy butts!
