"Bright batiks" by Karolyn

I love how fun and bright this quilt is.  Just random fabrics cut to the same size, and then pulled out and pieced together in now design.  Much like confetti.

I'm making a similar quilt, will have to keep this idea in mind for when I start to sew it together.

Pretty Batiks by Masha

Masha made this quilt for her daughter, the pattern is from a Women's Day magazine from the 1990's.  A classic!

Blue and green baticks by Karolyn

doesn't recall the name of the pattern, something that she found in a magazine that I passed on to her.  Stunning!

Quilted with "Curly Swirly" panto and variegated thread that perfectly matches the fabric colors.

Blue & Green batiks by Karoyn

Simple design, lots of 1/2 square triangles, but boy do they pack a punch.  And Karolyn's piecing is impeccable.  All her points match beautifully, none cut off.  Maybe I should ask her for lessons?

"Swanky Baubles" by me

Since it's my quilt, I had a good time playing with the quilting and put feathers everywhere I could find a spot.  Also having used wool batt, it's got a great loft.

Moon Over Mountain by me, for Jan

Simple applique design, all done with fusible web.  The fun part was the quilting!  I did a simple meander in all the backgrounds, then used inspiration from the batik designs in the suns for quilting there.  Left the mountains empty so that they would be dimensional.  Much thought about how to quilt the border, but finally went with simple piano keys.  Then a ray in each corner.  Lots of changing thread colors to match, but I think worth the effort.

Strip quilt by Karolyn

Here's a lovely quilt from Karolyn.  All done in lovely batiks and destined to be a gift for a loved one.
Bless her heart, I carefully deleted my photos before uploading them, so she kindly sent me these photos to share.
