Sevral from Sue

I really thought that I had adjusted the quilts so that they were oriented correctly.  I was mistaken.  This will be a quilt for a child, but I don't know if this child has been selected or not.

Stars for her daughter.  Sue says that her daughter's home is decorated in muted colors of greys, black and white, so this is for her to snuggle under when it's cooler. Quilted with a free hand design due to the flange on the border that we did not want to "nail down"

Christmas Carpenter's star.  This will be donated by Sue as a raffle prize.    Funds raised will be used for whatever charitable organization is chosen this year.

"House Sampler" by Sue

I love the cheeirness of this quilt.  All the same house block, but with a different block in the main portion of each house.  Quilted with Baptist fans, a perfect compliment for them all.

2 from Sue

This is a "Cathedral Window" quilt.  The center blocks are usually pieced by hand due to the folded land layered parts.  Quite amazing.

Sue asked that I leave the center Cathedral Windows un quilted, and I was happy to do so.  There's no way I could have gotten my machine to go through all those layers, not to mention catching my hopping foot on all the lovely dimensional parts.

I am not a big drinker, and thought that Crown Royal Royal bags only came in the traditional purple flannel.   Shows what I know.  Orange, brown, green and purple.  All painstakingly cut down to make this quilt.

Two from Sue

This is a "Scrabble" quilt for Sue's daughter.  Sue told me that she and a friend found the scrabble letters in a quilt shop, and each bought two panels.  The letters in the quilt are things that are important to her daughter.  So the grandkids and spouse's names, hobbies, etc.  What a fun idea!

I can't wait to see how Sue finishes this quilt.  She has machine appliqued all of these darling little sea creatures onto the white, and then will add additional embellishments to it.  I SID around each one, and quilted a wavy design in the background and outer border.

Fussy Cut Paisley by Sue

I think Sue isn't very happy with the designer of this pattern.  She told me that she "Got it for free, and it was about worth what I paid for it."  However, it made a lovely quilt!

Two from Sue

Sue is getting ready for a quilt show at her living situation, so not as much piecing for her right now.  Still, she's got some lovelies here!
Above is a 9 patch variation in my favorite color combo of blue and white

This one is called "Chutney", not sure why.  Quilted with an art deco fan design.

DWR from Sue

I would love to make a DWR quilt someday, but I'm not sure that I've got the patience to do it.  I sure have a good time quilting them though.  Sue doesn't know who will receive this one, but I hope that they appreciate the work that she put into it.
Feathers in white thread in the arcs, and similar motif in matching turquoise thread in the background.  Lovely.

Traveling Teddy by Sue

Sue has a new grand (or maybe great grand) baby on the way, so quick, a baby quilt.  Cute little panel, quilted with Happy Clouds panto

"Tiles" by Sue

That is probably not the actual name of the pattern, but it reminds me of Middle Eastern floor ties, or a screen.  Just lovely!

One of several I have from Sue right now, but the rest will be hand guided and therefore take longer to finish.

Chandelier and twin bargellos by Sue

As I was quilting this quilt, several people came to pick up or drop off and it seemed that everyone commented on what a lovely quilt this is.    I absolutely agree, and it took me some time to realize that it is simply a 9 patch variation on point.  Clearly, something to add to my list of "to do" quilts.
Love the "Deco Clam Glam" quilting design.

These really are two different quilts.  Sue started to make one large bargello quilt and eventually decided she didn't care for it.  So, but it in half, or don't put the two halves together, and now you've got two!  I believe these are for twin girls.

"Asian Fans" by Sue

What a lovely quilt, although the red border reads as more orange in the photo.  The piecing makes such a pretty lattice design across the quilt.

"Loralie" #2 by Sue

This is Sue's second quilt  from a Loralie panel.  This one is the summer version, the original was winter, per Sue

This panel is what I think I look like.  Tall svelte.  I even have the treadle sewing machine.

Several from Sue

Bless Sue, she had brought me these quilts before Christmas, and then the "Christmas Rush" began.  I asked her if these were gifts, or if she was okay with a delay, and she kindly agreed to a delay.  The above is called "Cork Stars" because the fabric in the star blocks and backing resembles cork.

A panel of chickens by Loralie Designs.  Quilted with what else, but Chicken Wire

And a panel of dogs by Loralie.  Quilted with the "woof" design.  Dog bones and hearts
This represents what our sweet boy Sam looks like when I come home
