Beach Huts and the North American Mystery by Sharyle

This was a mystery quilt from Heart to Hand, but I don't recall the exact name of the pattern.  This is quilted with a design of Palm Trees, and it took an hour to quilt each pass of the quilt.  Wow.
And here is the North American Mystery from around the same time.  Reminiscent of a Native American Blanket pattern

Mystery quilt by Jan

I recently Jan, and it turns out the she lives 2 blocks from me. She and her husband have recently moved her from Michigan to be near family and this is a quilt that she completed there.

She requested a swirl design in the white background and that was echoed into the white setting triangles.

A ruler was used for the wave in the blue border, after I tried it freehand, and really didn't like it.

The orange border got a freehand ribbon design all the way around.
Very nicely pieced, and I hope we'll get to work together again.

"Bonnie Hunter's Latest Mystery"

I love
mystery quilts, but Bonnie Hunter is a bit intense for m.  Gotta love her stuff though, and beautifully pieced by Dagmar.  I'm pretty sure this is the one that started the "leafy vine" panto, so thank you for that!

"Tribal Castle" by me.

I love the pattern, but my color choices are "Interesting".  My usual scrappy quilts, and when you look closely, some of the fabrics are probably not the greatest choices.  Oh well, cop quilt.

Frankly, I'm more excited about the quilting.  All done on my computerized machine,  I've been doing only edge to edge, but why waste the tools that I've got at my fingertips?  So, this was a practice one.
The thread is pink, so hard to see, but each different block is quilted slightly differently.

The quilting shows up much better on the back.  Now if I'd only gone for a 12' table for Lenni, I could do larger quilts!  Oh well, live and learn.

Irish Mystery by Sharyle

Here's an old favorite from Heart to Hand.  Way back in the day when we had the mystery quilt club.
Sharyle added the the shamrocks in the corners
I'm quite pleased with the quilting design.  It's called "Celtic Knot", and I love the secondary pattern that it creates where the two rows meet.

"Cabin Under the Stars" for the baby who hasn't arrived yet

When I was in college, my neighbor/roomate and I became very close.  Stayed in touch after college, daily email conversations.  Sadly, she passed away about 2 years ago, and I have since become in contact with her daughter via email.  Well, the daughter is no pregnant with their first child, so of course, a quilt is needed!  This is probably more "play mat" sized than crib, but I had fun.  Another great mystery from Mystery Quilts Anonymous
Quilted with hearts and bubbles panto.

This poor quilt is being well traveled by bicycle.  I took it to work with the intention to mail it.  Oh yes, it's Veterans day (thank you Veterans!), so no mail.  Rode to the post office the next day, but left the address at home!  Oh well, got some bike miles in.

"Swanky Baubles" by me

Since it's my quilt, I had a good time playing with the quilting and put feathers everywhere I could find a spot.  Also having used wool batt, it's got a great loft.

"Checkerboard Square" by me.

"Mystery Quilts Anonymous" on Facebook.  Since it's a mystery, you only get fabric requirements.  I decided that checker boards are black and red, so that's my color choice.  Scrappy as always, because that's my style.  Now I just need to find a police officer to give it too.

"Kindred Spirits" by me

This is one of the amazing Mystery Quilts Anonymous patterns.  I believe this one was to celebrate the fact that she now has 5000 people following her on Facebook.  As usual, I went with scrappy, but probably a bit too scrappy.  I'm not thrilled with it up close, but it will make a great cop quilt.

Here's the backing to show the quilting.  The design is called "Juliet", and below is a detail from the front of the quilt.

"Virtual Studio" by me

This is a quilt pattern called "Quarantine" from Deb Montgomery of "Mystery Quilts Anonymous".  Started in late March 2020, right when we were encouraged to socially distance from one another due to Covid 19.
This will go to my boss at WW.  Right when I started this quilt, was when WW went to virtual studios, hence the name.  In the WW plan colors of green, blue and purple (on the binding)

Jack in the Box, by me and for me.

This is a quilt from Debi Montgomery on Facebook as Mystery Quilts Anonymous.  I think we started this one in about spring of 2019, then I got involved in taking a quilting class, and homework got in the way.  Then once together, it had to wait it's turn for quilting.  However, I'm so very pleased with how it turned out!

3 colors of thread to match the fabrics, wool batting for loft (and warmth)  And how many different ways can I include feathers in this quilt?  It appears, quite a few different ways.  About 10 days on my machine, and I think there were 23 bobbins of thread.  (That's a lot of thread.)

Thanks to Pat for pointing out that the photos had disappeared, but now they are back.

"Jack has left the box" by me

This is a charity quilt for the police.  The blocks were leftovers from my "Jack in the Box" quilt from the Mystery Quilts Anonymous FB group.  Still waiting to quilt that.

I had a bunch of 1/2 square triangles left over, so just started sewing them together, and then added some blacks from my stash for background.

Quilted with a Gecko design because I wanted to try it out.  (Even if the gecko does look like Wile E. Coyote from Road Runner cartoons to me.

"Precious Memories of Cycle Oregon" by me

Another amazing design from Debi at Mystery Quilts Anonymous.  Xande and I were on a bike ride to investigate local quilt shops, and found the background fabric.  The remainder is pulled from my stash.
Donated as a fund raiser and raffled off at the Cycle Oregon Kick Off Party.  I took in $119 in cash, but need to count the total number of tickets sold.  The winner bought $50 worth of tickets.  She REALLY wanted it.  She's one one in the past, but was gracious and gave it to her children.  She's keeping this one for herself.

"Belgium" by Sharyle

Here's the Belgian mystery from Heart to Hand.  Fun memories from a fun time.
The quilting design is of daisies

"Japanese Mystery" by Sharyle

I really miss Heart to Hand and the fun and friends from there.  At least I still get to see Sharyle and she brings my the mystery quilts that we made there.

Sharyle added the appliqued orchids to her quilt
Quilted with the "Sushi" panto, so ginkgo leaves and a few fish

My first "Jack in The Box"

Here's another mystery quilt!  This one for the police.  We were given the task way back sometime of selecting a focus fabric, or embroidering, building up something for our focus block.  I found this great fabric on a ride.  All of the different colored center squares are actually from the same piece of fabric.  I love this!  Surround it with black, white and shades of grey, then quilt with Lorien's Dragons panto.  As soon as I hear that I've passed Lesson #5 for my certification class, I'll give this one to a police officer.
