"Chocolate Bars" by Mary Beth

This quilt isn't quite finished, I still need to bind it for Mary Beth.  However, I do have a bone to pick with her!  It's not nice to leave with a quilt that is made up of different chocolates, then to have it quilted with chocolate kisses!

Imagine staring at all these lovely yummys while you are quilting.  I work for WW!!  Thankfully, I was able to stay on plan and not eat her quilt.

"Tribal Castle" by me.

I love the pattern, but my color choices are "Interesting".  My usual scrappy quilts, and when you look closely, some of the fabrics are probably not the greatest choices.  Oh well, cop quilt.

Frankly, I'm more excited about the quilting.  All done on my computerized machine,  I've been doing only edge to edge, but why waste the tools that I've got at my fingertips?  So, this was a practice one.
The thread is pink, so hard to see, but each different block is quilted slightly differently.

The quilting shows up much better on the back.  Now if I'd only gone for a 12' table for Lenni, I could do larger quilts!  Oh well, live and learn.

"Crossed Circuits"

This quilt is really a work of leftovers.  The blocks are made from "strings" those strips that are too small to throw away, but too large to keep.  The backing is pieced from the same fabric, but bits that weren't large enough and in one piece.  But, it was pre-washed, and that was important.  The batting is again, leftover bits that are too large to just throw away.  The border is from fabric a vintage quilt that Anne brought for quilting.  Her original backing wasn't big enough to use again, and she kindly let me keep it for just such an occasion.  I had planned on making this just two colors, but actually used up all the strings from my green and brown bins.  I had the blue blocks leftover from a previous quilt, so threw those in there.  I think it all works, and will keep someone warm.

The name of the quilt is taken from the quilting design which is called "Circuitry"  , but I had to add the crossed part after I made a mistake in the quilting. Obviously I would have fixed this for a customer quilt, but this one will be going to the next police officer I find, so I let it add to the fun.

"Horse Convergence" by Pat

Oh how sad. This quilt is for the mother of a young woman who died.  This lady loved horses, so horses in the print, and quilted with the design "Ponies".  I'm sorry for your loss.

Leigh's most recent "Collage" and "Big Stitches with a print"

As always, I have to wonder where Leigh finds the patience, and the creativity.   May she's shopping at a different store than I am.

Lovely work, and such fun to find new ways to quilt these beauties as well.

"For son Scott" by Jolene

Jolene also sent two quilts, Half Moon Bay is the name of this one, and it's a gift for her son Scott.  Quilted with the Aztec design, but it's a Greek Key to me.
Gotta love the perfect tracing of stitching that Lenni can accomplish!

"Dogs" by Gretchen

I haven't even met Gretchen yet, but she sent me two quilts for her grandsons.    Lots of dogs running across the fabrics in the quilt, so quilted with the "woof" design in Lenni.

Log Cabin for Aranshi's annivesary

Aranshi's 2nd wedding anniversary is fast approaching.  Two years is the "cotton" anniversary.  She and her mother made this quilt together, and I think it's lovely.  Quilted with the "Jacob's Other Ladder" panto.  Happy anniversary to the happy couple.

Diamonds in the Rough by me

This is another quilt from the facebook group "Mystery Quilts Anonymous".  I chose the pink and brown color scheme because I had a cone of thread in those colors that I wanted to use to quilt it.

All fabrics pulled from my stash, and I was short using the same background fabric throughout by about 6" total.  Oh well.  That adds to the fun.
As usual, a cop quilt, and the old adage of "never a cop when you need one" holds true.  Although for a much more fun reason.  I had this in the car for 5 days.  (Granted, I only drove 2 of those days).  No police officers in sight!  On Monday, during a long bike ride, I believe I passed at least 6 police cruisers, but of course, had no quilt with me.  Finally, just starting to pull into my driveway at the end of the day, here comes one down my street.  Waved him over, and explained that all was well, and the rest of the story.  Watching his face brighten when he heard the story of the quilt, and how being able to give him this made my day, made me feel that much happier.

A huge thanks to the facebook group that supports these quilts, and to my friend Cathy for introducing me to them.  By the way, I currently have 3 quilts from this group in varying stages.  2 are donations, and one is for my bed because after 15 years or so, there's a hole in mine.

Modern Squares by Renee

Renee made this quilt for her nephew.  I wish I'd asked her the name of the pattern.  I can't quite figure out how she made the blocks.
She said that she appliqued the triangles on "just for fun".

6" block bar quilt by Torgi

Wow.  These blocks all finish at 6", and they are absolutely perfectly pieced.  Amazing.  So, these little squares below are finished at 1".  Quilted with the Baptist Fan board to give the amazing piecing a chance to shine.

Embroidered squares by Torgi

Another lady who's handwork I admire is Torgi.  To have the patience to make all these pretty blocks out of embroidery.  Stunning!

Wool Applique by Torgi

Isn't this just the most gorgeous quilt?  I so admire people who do applique work, especially those who do it by hand!
Sashed with star blocks and pieced triangle blocks.  Love the swag on the outer edge.

"Collage" by Leigh

Where does Leigh get these ideas?  I love all the fun little bits on this quilt.  Lace pieces, ribbons, buttons, buckles, you name it, it's there.  All appliqued by hand onto flannel.

Quilted with a simple meander stitch in the background to just hold everything together, with feathers in the outer border.
