9 patch and stars variation from Kristin

Oh what a stunner!  I've commented on this before that when I am working on a quilt, I only see a small portion at a time.  Yes, it's very pretty, and I see the details.  Like how beautifully pieced this is, not a point cut off.  But then you hang it up and WOW! So very pretty.  This is a first quilt for me from Kristin, and I've got another going to my big machine very soon.  Can't wait to post it!

Ombre Stars by Kathy Y

This is the first of four quilt that Kathy dropped off.  All the prints are an Ombre fabric that fades from dark to light, and all the same fabric line with the gold "drops" across it.  Quilted with a stars panto, and a thread that matches the gold in the fabric.  Perfect!

"Tartan Stars" by Michael

When you initially look at this quilt, you see pretty stars.  When you look more closely, you realized that the star points are pieced  into the sashing.  So there is approx. 36 pieces for each large block.  Wow.  That's a lot of piecing.

Quilted with the Primitive Sky panto, gold to thread and bright pink in the bobbin on the dark purple backing.

White and green stars by Susan

Small world, Susan is my dental hygienist.  Every 6 months when I see her, we talk about quilting, bu this is the first quilt that I've helped her with.  It seems that her family currently has one quilt with a Minky backing and there are 'fights" over who gets it.  Now with 2 kids out of the house, there's a second on for her and her husband to choose from

I love the texture that really shows the "Sand dollar" quilt design

Stars and 9 patch by Beverly

Another gorgeous quilt by Beverly.  This one is for her grand-daughter.  We were discussing backing fabrics, and Beverly shared that this grand-daughter has a dog, so probably not white backing.  So a great read that really let's the quilting show.

Since the background is actually a pale grey, that's the thread color I went with as well.  Hard to see, but it blends really nicely.  Great idea to cut a slightly smaller center square, then to frame it with a different red.  Lots of fun fabrics to look at!

"Celestial" by Masha

I love all these starry fabrics in blues and golds. I'm not sure who this is for, but they had better appreciate it!  Quilted with Spiral Stars panto and gold thread.  Nicely done.

Stars and Stripes for Kelli's mom in law

Shh. This may be a gift, so no telling.  This lovely one is made by Kelli for her mom in law.  Not a fan of orange myself, but it really works in this quilt.  I love the background checkerboard design of the stripes as well.
Quilted with the design "Adena", so flowers and swirls.  Very pretty..

Baby quilt by Sara

Sara and 3 other friends brought me the original of this quilt after making the blocks for their friends who were recently married.  These 4 blocks didn't make it into the first quilt, so Sara put them together as a baby quilt for her co-worker.  All flannel, so soft and cuddly and perfect for a baby!

Several from Julie

This is so cute!  I believe that Julie told me that they were a layer cake pack to begin with.  Quilted with glow in the dark thread (of course!)

And a bright green in the bobbin to show up on the black backing.

And finally, two log cabin throws from a friend of Julie's that she brought with her.  So pretty!

"Sparkle" by Sue

Some lucky little girl will receive this quilt when she's older and ready for a big girl bed.  Sue used at least a couple of jelly rolls (2" wide precut strips of fabric) to make this, then found the perfect design for quilting. "Spiral Stars."

"Same as previous" by Lorri

I am ashamed to admit it, but the only "name" I have for this quilt is that it should be quilted "the same as previous"
I know that Lorri has now made two of these quilts, same pattern, but with slightly different batiks and different color borders.  One will be for Lorri, and the other for her sister.  The quilt is king sized, so too large to get a full quilt shot.  I love the center design.

Stars BOM by Dagmar

I miss going to a quilt shop and participating in their
Block of the Month.  Maybe someday I'll get to do it again.  For now, here's Dagmar's lovely project.

Quilted with the Celtic Knot panto.  Glad my Lenni machine did all the backtracking, because I can't do it that well!

"Wonky Stars" by Sue

One last Christmas quilt for Sue this year.  This one goes to her 9yo grandson who loves the "Star Wars" films.
I love the "wonky" stars, the blocks finish at about 6", but some of the star points only show about 1/2"  I am guessing that they are paper pieced, but I will have to ask Sue.

Quilted with "Distorted Stars" panto.

Several from Michael

Michael brought in quite a collection of goodies.  First, take a decorative tea towel and add borders.  Since it's the song "Jingle Bells", it's quilted with music notes.

This one is a towel from Ohio to go to a friend who lives there. Did you know that several presidents are from Ohio?  I didn't.  Completed with Ohio stars in the corners.
And since I didn't turn the photos, on the left is half a tree skirt for Christmas.  I think that Michael is going to use this as quilted yardage in bags and such.  Quite pretty, I think.
Quilted with the "Christmas Paisley" panto.  They are all 3 quilted with the same backing, so I loaded the backing , and then used scraps of batting for each one.

"Wedding Quilt Leftovers" by me

My darling niece Katie married her love Cody on Aug. 3, 2019.  Of course I had to make them a wedding quilt!  I started to piece the quilt which involved literally hundreds of 2" squares of fabric.  I also wanted to make it larger than the pattern, so rather than count how many squares I had, I just kept cutting.  I got the quilt pieced, and was binding it by hand with much help from Rumples the kitten, the week before the wedding.  In my rush to finish this, I completely forgot to take a picture of the actual wedding quilt!  However, since I hadn't bothered to count fabrics, I ended up with enough leftover blocks to make this baby quilt top.  Again, it went for donation to Project Linus.  The wedding quilt has a lavender inner border and a green outer border just like this one.  Those colors were chosen because when asked for their color choices, she chose purple and he chose green.  All of the tiniest star blocks are made up of either a green or purple center square with the opposite color for the star points to represent to two of them.  The rest of the quilt is from my stash, with some last minute purchases of background fabrics.  And yes, I found lots more after having gone to the store, twice!

Michael's scrappy stars

I have to get these photos up so that Michael can post them on Instagram!  As always, I love scrappy quilts, and stars...

The panto is "Diagonal Plaid", and I wsn't sure about it initially.  When it got doing though, I love how it turned out.    The green is the backing.  Color is darker than it shows, but I love the wavy lines.so much that I have included it in a mystery quilt for my bed.  Will get it finished.... someday.

Chicago Cubs by Dagmar

I think it's safe to say that Dagmar is a fan of the Chicago Cubs baseball team.
Great quilt made using a layer cake, and then she added in  the above fabric for the stars.
Quilted with the "Baseball Fun" panto.

Kids "Future Dreams" made blocks from Lisa

Lisa works with a local school utilizing quilting to coincide with the kids studies of history, math, etc.   Each child chose their own fabrics from of lights and darks, with a center muslin square.  They were then asked what their dream for the future were.  Those were written on the muslin squares in ink either by the kids, or by adult helpers.  So very sweet!  Quilted with an edge to edge design of freehand stars and loops.
