Michael's "Kitchen Sink" quilt.

 

I am guessing that this quilt gets it's name because it's made up primarily of leftover blocks or parts of blocks.  It was fun to quilt this one and try to remember or recognize where the blocks came from.  I think I did pretty well, but there were still lots that I didn't recognize.

 Another reason this quilt was such fun to quilt was because I did whatever I wanted for quilting.  I used a variegated thread that had come with my machine, primarily yellows and oranges.  Then the quilting designs were inspired by the blocks, or whatever struck my fancy at the time.  I tried to mimic the spider web in the block above,

and practiced my continuous curves in the tulip block.

This one has more continuous curves, as well as freehand swirls and molar feathers in the bottom of the photo.

I love the little dog in this block!
