New pantos

This has been on  my list of things to do for way too long.  Ordered new pantos, need to add them to the collection.  So here they are.

A Gentle Snowfall.  Could also be flowers, doesn't have to be Christmas.

Royal Court.  Hmm.  Going to have to try this one out.

 Hot Air Balloons!

Bikes!  I've had this one for over a year, and am finally getting it listed on the website

 Dandelion

 April in Paris

Jacob's Other ladder.

"Flowers from Oahu" by me in honor of Ruth

This quilt has been a long time coming.  My darling husband and I traveled to Oahu for our 15th(?) wedding anniversary.  It was a lovely trip, and he patiently went with me to so many fabric stores.  I had to buy something at each and every one, so all of the "flower" prints in this quilt came from Hawaii.  The pattern is a snowball block with 3 corners made from the same background fabric, and the remaining one from a different fabric to make a "flower center".  Not my idea, I stole it from a customer's quilt.

One of my favorite days was when we got to visit the "Aloha Tower" in downtown Honolulu.  It's an Art Deco era tower near the harbor where ships used to and probably still do dock for cruises. We went to the top, enjoyed the view and just had such fun.  When we got home to our hotel that night, I was sorting through my lovely new fabrics, and found that this one has the tower in it!  Top right corner block, but the tower is laying on it's left side.

I finally started to make this quilt as a donation quilt in honor of my sister in law's mother who passed in November of 2016 after a very long illness.  The family requested that donations be made to the hospice company that cared for her, so I made this quilt to donate to them.    It took so long to get quilted because my sewing machine was in the shop fro 3 months, so no embroidered quilt labels.  Now that my machine is back and running beautifully, I'm getting caught up on my quilts.

"Luxurious" for Janet

This is a whole cloth for Janet's customer who wanted it to be "Luxurious." Double layer of poly batting, and then a simple outline of the medallions.  Janet will cut it down to size and do the binding.  Hope it meets his needs.

Pink Elephant by Veda

Aren't you supposed to see pink elephants when you've had a bit too much to drink?  This one is much more fun. Quilted with the swirls board, and such a sweet baby quilt.

Girafe panel by Veda

Isn't this cute?  Take a panel, add blocks and "poof!" a baby quilt.  Quilted with the African Animals panto.

A little something in honor of Finley by me.

Oops.  Someone carefully mailed the quilt off, but forgot to take a photo of it first!  And I was so sure that I had too!

Through the wonders of the quilting world, I've got to know Tony from Iowa.  His wife recently gave birth to their newest son Finley Anthony.  Sadly, he was born 7 weeks early, so will be spending some time in the NICU.

I whipped together a very simple baby quilt, alternating black and white 5" squares to stimulate the baby's vision, and then the remainder of the blocks were juvenile prints to make it an "I Spy" quilt.

Since his dad works for a quilting machine company, we can be pretty sure that this kiddo will never lack for quilts, so I just mailed this quilt to the hospital where he is being cared for, with a note to give it to someone who needs it.

Guess I'll do better at taking photos in the future.  Trust me though, it was pretty cute.

"Blue for Etsy" by Sara

Sara must have an Etsy account and sold a quilt.  I'm not sure of the name of the pattern, or it may be something that she created herself.  Best of luck to her with this endeavor.

Penny Candy by me

Another of those "Beginner Ender" quilts.  Made up of randomly chosen 2" squares, and then all sewn together.  They make me happy,  Dropped this one off at the police precinct today, and I always love the reaction of the officers.  They are so kind "Thanks for this.  But why are you giving it to me?"  I gave him a brief history, and told him that Officer Tori would have more details if he was interested.

Quilted with the new "Dandelion" panto  Pretty fun!

"Minions" by Mary

Here is your giggle for the day.  This quilt of "Minions" is made to go into the RV who has been christened "Kevin".  If you don't get the reference, you'll need to watch the movie.

A jelly roll or two is all that this took to make a fun rail fence quilt.  Quilted with wool batt for loft and warmth, and the swirls board.  Too fun.

Fancy Forest Friends by Pam

Here is where we started.  All these cute little animals and some flowers and butterflies.  Amazing piecing, mostly not done as paper piecing.  Wow.  All for Pam's lucky grandson's 2nd birthday.

Next step.  Thread choices.  These were where I started.  There were a few more added in as time progressed.

The finished quilt, full shot, and details below.

Background fill of peacock feather meander in all of the cream.

I honestly think that the hedghogs are my favorite of the animals.

But the owls were the most fun to quilt.

I love how the butterfly wings ended up!

Feathers for the bunny ears.

Straight lines for Mr. Fox face

echo quilting in the leaves and the flower tops.

"Wheel of Mystery" by Pat.

I seem to be a bigger dork than usual when it comes to computers.  I know that I took a full on shot of this quilt but then lost the photos in the computer.  It would appear that that photo was not found again.  Argh.

This is made of 1930's reproduction prints, as well as a few original prints from the era.  Such fun.  Quilted all over the place with feathers.  I love feathers, and 1930's fabrics,so really fun to quilt this quilt.

Hand appliques with yo yos in the flower centers.  When Pat picked it up today she said "Oh good.  It's going on my bed." Wouldn't this be a cheerful way to get up every morning?

"Mr. Furry Toes" by me.

Back in September 2015, I got to ride on Cycle Oregon, the "Go for the Gold" route.  I knew at that time that we were going to be losing our sweet Toby dog in the near future, so I purposely started looking for dog prints to include in his quilt.  Much of these came from the "Dog Park" collection that just happened to be at the shop in Gold Beach.  I chose a Bear's Paw block to represent our sweet boy and the tufts between his toes that he really didn't like to have touched..

Some of the other fabrics came from my stash.  Things that I had purchased and collected over the years.  This quilt was pieced long before the 2016 presidential election, and it was a total fluke that I ended up with a "Trump cat" on a surfboard.  Makes me laugh to see it.

This also shows a portion of the quilting design which is called "Flopsy", and features a dog and dog bones in it.  Perfect to represent Toby.  This quilt will be given to the Oregon Humane Society, from where Toby came to live with us.

By the way, Darling Husband Randall asked "Who's this one for" when I showed him the finished quilt. I told him that its for the Humane Society, and he responded "But I miss him too."  Too be continued.

"Hugs and Kisses" by me

Another one of my numerous string quilts.  I got the idea from a customer, so sorry!  I can't remember who it was now! But, if you looks closely, you'll see that the red  blocks form an "O", while the blues make the "X" for hugs and kisses! What I find most amazing is that I had to stop making red blocks because I ran out of red strings.  Then I had to pull a few from my stash of blues to have enough left over to have enough blocks to make the quilt work.

Quilted with the new panto "April In Paris", Eiffel Towers and swirls.  I had just finished binding the quilt in the morning, then went out to run errands. When I returned home, all kinds of first responders were on my street in front of my house.  I don't know what it was about, but we had the Hazmat Truck, 2 fire engines and a couple of police cars.  When they seemed to be finished with their important work, I ran out with this quilt and shoved it at the officer who was still there.  Tried to quickly explain since I couldn't get the computer to print out one of my "dear officer" letters that I include.  She responded "That's okay.  I remember you.  I came to your house before and picked up a quilt."  Gotta love our officers.

By the way, the current string quilt project won't have any blue or red in it.  Gonna have to collect again for a while before I can add those two colors back to repertoire.

Strip quilt for Grand-daughter Lily by Kelly

So simple, but what a great design.  The design really shows in this photo.

Quilted with a pantograph called "Sashiko", but in my mind it's called "Waterlilies"  Kelly pointed out that it seemed appropriate to use the water lilies design on a quilt for a girl named "Lily".  Great idea Grandma.

Batiks for Grandson Jace by Kelly

Nice block design Kelly.  I don't think I know that one.  Love the batiks in at as well.

Quilted with Fancy Flames panto and "Butterscotch" thread.
