T-shirt quilt for Susan's son

This was a really fun quilt to work on.  Besides the usual t-shirts, which you expect, Susan had a "special request" to incorporate a couple of baby items, and part of his coming home from the hospital blanket.
The blanket was made up of fleece stars appliqued to the red background.  The black and white check fabric was the backing of the baby blanket.  Perfect for building out the smaller pieces to make them large enough to match the rest of the blocks.

This block is made up of his hat that he wore home from the hospital, as well as small squares cut from his coming home outfit.  The white car and truck print was the inside, and the embroidery is cut from the outside.  So cute!
This one is my favorite block.  Seems that dad is a fan of the band Metallica, so he got to wear this shirt when he was little.  Probably the members of the band never thought this is where one of their shirts would end, but it makes me smile.
